I am a advocate of the right of everyone to believe, worship, not worship, embrace, explore or ignore any and all religions of their choosing without criticism. However, in the world today and especially the US, when political figures, churches, organizations and lobbyists use religion as a tool to create public policy, regulation and social codes of conducts, those religions become fair game for criticism and critique. 

When this happens Christ, and I speak of Christ here because in the US that is really the religion we are discussion becomes not a religious figure but a whore for various interest groups and political ideologies.

The writings on this site are meant to explore and yes, bash, the beliefs and positions of Christian Conservatives who have come to dominate much of the religious landscape of America.

This is not to say that all Christians share these beliefs or advocate the positions of the extreme right wing, they do not.

However for the purposes of this site when we talk about Christians, those are indeed the ones we mean
